2. The Service
Reflexio provides a digital subscription service ("Subscription") that delivers thematically curated passages from literature together with editorially crafted reflections and interpretations. The value of the Service lies in the selection, thematic arrangement, editorial commentary, and e-book formatting. Content is delivered via web access and/or downloadable files (e.g., EPUB e-books).
3. Eligibility and accounts
- Availability: The Service is currently available to customers located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We reserve the right to restrict access if we determine that an account is being used from outside these regions. In such cases, we may cancel the subscription and issue a refund for the current billing period.
- You must be able to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service.
- If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate, current information and to keep it updated.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and taxes
- Recurring billing: When you purchase a Subscription, you authorize recurring charges at the price, frequency, and dates shown at checkout, until you cancel.
- Taxes: Prices may include or exclude taxes depending on your location and the checkout display. Where required, we charge applicable taxes (e.g., VAT).
- Payment failures: If a payment fails, we (or our payment partners) may retry the charge and notify you. If payment cannot be processed after retrying, your access may be paused until the issue is resolved.
- Price changes: We may change Subscription pricing from time to time. If we increase the price, we will notify existing subscribers in advance before the new price takes effect. You may cancel your Subscription before the price change applies.
5. Cancellation
You can cancel your Subscription at any time to stop future renewals. You can cancel via your customer account/subscription portal (if available) or through our public cancellation page: https://reflexio-ebooks.com/pages/cancel
Please also review our Purchase options cancellation policy. (If you are using Shopify's policy page, it is available via the "cancellation policy" link shown at checkout.)
6. Digital content, access, and license
- License: We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service and the digital content you receive, for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
- No resale: You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, resell, publicly display, or create derivative works from our editorial content (including our reflections, interpretations, thematic arrangement, and e-book formatting) except as permitted by law.
- Content updates: We may apply minor corrections to previously delivered digital files (e.g., fixing typos, formatting issues, or small content refinements). Updated files will be made available in your digital library.
- Access after cancellation: Access rules (including what you retain after cancellation) depend on the Subscription terms presented at checkout and the configuration of the Service.
7. AI-assisted content disclosure
Reflections and interpretations are created with the assistance of internal AI tools under human creative direction and curation, with AI tools assisting in articulation and refinement. All content is reviewed and approved under human oversight. We aim for high quality, but interpretations are subjective and may not be perfect.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to bypass paywalls or access controls, scrape the Service, or interfere with its operation.
- Upload or transmit malware or attempt unauthorized access to our systems.
- Use our name, branding, or content in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without permission.
9. Intellectual property
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we claim rights in the selection, curation, thematic arrangement, editorial commentary, formatting, and design of the Service. Our compilation, arrangement, and editorial commentary are protected to the extent permitted by law. Where the Service includes content from third-party sources, the rights of the respective rights holders apply.
10. Refunds
Refund rules are described in our Return and Refund Policy. As the Service delivers digital content, the standard 14-day EU right of withdrawal may not apply once digital content delivery has begun with your consent and acknowledgement that the withdrawal right is thereby lost, in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws. Statutory consumer rights apply depending on your location.
If we identify an issue with your account (such as use from an unsupported region, a billing error, or a violation of these Terms), we may need to cancel the subscription and discontinue access. In such cases, a refund for the current billing period will be issued. Refunds are typically processed within 3 to 5 business days, depending on your payment provider.
11. Disclaimers
- No professional advice: The Service is for educational and informational purposes only and is not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
- As-is: The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it cannot be limited under applicable law (including mandatory consumer protection laws).
13. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice where required. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Privacy
Our use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
